Intro
Hi there!
If you are reading this blog, you must know I am a mental health provider in Lincoln, NE! I’m hoping to provide some insights to who I am, and why I opened my own practice…so let’s dive right in.
I have LOVED my time as a school psychologist. I found that I was most fulfilled after days in which I had spent the majority of my time with the students, either in groups or one on one settings. After six years in the school, I decided to take a leap of faith, and shift my focus to the private world, in order to move away from the paperwork and move towards the client-focused work.
As I am making this change, I will be able to collaborate effectively with schools. I also will be able to work effectively with diverse families, as being in the schools, you work with all students and situations. The years in the school setting taught me how to be adaptable, positive and communicate clearly. I’m so excited to bring these insights, and more, to my own private practice.
In my practice, my mission is to build children, adolescent and family knowledge and skills to improve their overall well being. I am focused on clients aged 4-21, who need support with executive functioning, behavior management, anxiety and/or depression. With my provisional license, I have the honor of working with Dr. Ann Clare, as my supervisor, to ensure I am creating and providing effective therapy to all my clients.
In the schools, a majority of my time was focused on completing evaluations for students. This means I understand how to give and interpret assessments, and I can understand psychological reports. However, with my practice, my hope is to provide early intervention and support clients no matter their diagnosis. I have spent so much time assessing students, that I am going to focus on providing treatment with my practice. This may change, as I develop and grow! We will see!
If you are looking for help, after an assessment is completed, or help before you or your family gets to the point of needing an assessment, reach out!
. . . . . .
Together, we can do great things!
